My sister has 4 cats and 1 dog in her house and she is puzzled why no one wants to eat there. How can I tactfully tell her it's because of all the animal hair floating around and sticking to the furniture.

Start gathering up hair while you're there. Roll it into a ball. When you have a good size ball, go to your sisters' house, and start coughing like you're about to die. Throw the ball o' hair in the floor so it looks like you hacked up a hairball. Then, just stare at her, like "what the hell?". She'll get it.

Just say that lately you've been having a hard time visiting her because of all of the cat hair in the house. Ask her if she has ever tried to get an air purifyer or if she comes the animals.

Tell her that you have to take an antihystemine every time you go to her house, becasue you have developed an allergy to dander (from animal fur). This should get her to run the vacuum around a bit more frequently

Just try H O N E S T Y.
I've never liked liars and if you are not honest then you need to leave it alone.
Maybe she just need a swift kick (metaphorically speaking) in the rump.
Maybe she just doesn't know her house is that nasty.

Just tell her. She probably already knows it is an issue- I have a pet fur issue too and I sure know about it because I live with it! Maybe offer her to help clean to soften the blow....

why tactfully? say "Sis you house a pigsty with all this hair!"

I mean it's not like you're saying it to the queen of england, it's your sister for gods sake!

Oh, I hate those kinds of situations. She's your sister...if you can't tell her who can? She probably doesn't even notice it. My only advice is to tell her privately so she doesn't get embarrassed in front of anyone, and finding the right moment is important too.
