Do you hate the police?

or do you just talk that way, in an attempt to sound tough around your buddies?

I'm very prejudice against the police, though I hate to be. I remember I was driving to school a few months ago and I was on the express way and a police car in front of me slowed down to 60MPH and straddled in the middle of the two lanes so no one could pass. Some police think they can abuse their power and I hate that. I'm sure many of them are good people, but I can only see the corruptness.

The police here in australia are more like glorified tax collectors than fighters of real crime. I would have much more respect for them if they didnt isist on patrolling the highways looking for speeders to take a picture of and tax.

Fair enough i am breaking the law by speeding but according to the road traffic department there has been absolutly no reduction in road accidents since the introduction of speed cameras. So therefore people speed and will continue to speed. APart from that is the more dangerous side of drink driving. I would perhaps pass through 3-6 speed traps a day and only get random breath tested once every 2 years. I see drunk people driving dangerously all the time. What should happen is they give up this speed camera crap and do more drug/aclchy testing and really make a difference.

Also if you call the cops to a break in they will probably turn up in 4 hours... maybe. Its not mr police man any more its mr tax man.

I love the idea of an opt out system. It means that you cant call the police for trivial stuff like noise and that you cannot be fined for speeding by them. Cut out the crap and let the police do a real job.

It seems everyone has a reason to dislike the police.
"They pulled me over for going 3 over the speed limit"
"They stopped me for walking around in front of my house one night"
"They drive faster than everyone else and then pull us over for it"

It seems to me that everyone has a Julius Caesar response to the police, as in, people tend to remember the bad things people do for longer and more harshly than they remember the good things that they do.

It may be true that there are some bad police officers out there. But at least they are out there, trying to keep the bad from getting to you.

The police are usually only problematic to people until they themselves have a problem. Even the most aberrant "pig-hater" will call 911 when someone breaks into his house. He will be totally cooperative while they are there taking his report, and then as soon as they leave he will be right back to calling them names, making snide comments about how long it took them to get to him...

The police have a tough job. Everything one cop does bad, makes the entire law enforcement industry look bad. They have to deal with a very stressful and dangerous job serving a thankless public for very little remuneration.

I just try to cut them a little slack. They are people too, behind those badges and uniforms, just trying to deal with the crap that society drags itself through.

In general, even if you can't respect the man, or you can't respect the woman, you should respect the authority. You never know if something really terrible is going to happen to you or someone you love, but you do know who is going to come help you.

Don't hate them at all. I do think there should be a website where you can sign up to opt out of police response so that they don't have to come if you call 9-1-1. That way all the tough talkers wouldn't be sucking up everyone elses tax dollars when they call crying for help to fix their screwed up life.

Well, we all know that the police are omniscient, so everybody who's ever been arrested must have been guilty, right? And of course, no policeman would ever consider abusing his authority. Get real. The cops have way too much power and it corrupts them. Maybe there are a few who are actually trying to help people instead of just out for themselves, but I've never met them. All the cops I've ever seen have been arrogant, rude and convinced that they were always right.

lol The cops are always the first to be blammed but they are the first to be called in an emergency..

You go to work everyday and deal with what they have to and then you have the right to judge! Until then, You have no idea, You have probably had a run in with the law which is why you hate them, well guess what, if you werent breaking the law perhaps you wouldnt have gotten introuble, for those who say "I was doing nothing" butt $hit!
If you dont break the law then you will have no problems with the cops!

I dont hate police, simply because they do a lot of things which i will not like to do.
Fishing a rotten dead body out of a lake, and then find the person responsible for that.
I will prefer to talk to a policemen, than with the thieves and criminals

just kidding.. They okay. But why do 5 cops gotta jump on the back of 1 man? and all of them are big and overweight! It dont take that many to put one guy down. Black or white lol okay maybe black cause we will do anything to get away. So just maybe 2 cops thats it.

I don't hate the police but I do disagree with a lot of the things that they do. The crooked ones get me heated cuz they get off easily most of the times.

I hate the dirty ones...Like Dave Camm who killed his wife and two kids, molested his daughter before he murdered her, and cheated on her before he murdered her, as well. Also, his children went to my school. It's the ones who don't do their job, and get arrested for DUI! Hello?!?!? You are a cop...What's up with a DUI? It's the officers who go 90mph on a 55mph road w/ no siren, just because they could. It's the ones who you see on the side of the road with their girlfriend while their wife is at home with their 5-month-old son. It's the one's who arrest a man for pot possession, and then steal his goods. It's the ones with a cocky attitude that have no care in the world to protect anyone but themselves... other than that, I LOVE 'EM!
