“Evolved Monkey Combat” and “eXtreme Martial Arts”

Once upon a time, there were two martial arts teams. There was Flung Dung (FD) from Long Beach, and Evolved Monkey Combat (EMC) from the O.C. Flung Dung was made up of Thourn (2win), Malay, and Jimmy. EMC was made up of Sarith, Jae, and Andy. The two teams met at open gym at Costa Mesa. They goofed off and trained together for about a year or so. Then, one night, the teams decided to join forces and become E.M.C. - Martial Arts for Hire. The meaning of E.M.C. varies from team member to team member. So, there is no set meaning for E.M.C.

XMA is known as extreme martial arts, I've also known it by the name combatastics and neokarate. It has it's roots in both the martial arts and gymnastics though XMA also sets an X-games kind of pace to weapons drills as well. You can find a huge load of sources with a search of either of those terms. You'll notice that practitioners often adopt x-games style terminology (trikz, bailz) as well.
