I think he has a good reason, office romances can be really messy. And there's probally another reason why he dosent want to date you, cause truthfully if he wanted to date you badly you guys would find a way. Dont worry you'll find someone else.

I have always tried to separate relationships from work and
never get involved with a co-worker.
Picture this:
You date someone you work with. You're fighting during your
off hours, but since you are both in work together have to inter-
act with on another, you're cold distant and ticked off with one
another.
This makes getting your job done hard for both of you.
Better to seek love outside of the workplace.

You're contradicting yourself. So you're not ready for a relationship, but you want advice on what to do? He's a smart man for not dating in the workplace, and he already knows you want to be with him. If you want any hope of him desiring you, then you should show interest in other people.
People naturally want what they can't have.

I think your advice is the best advice anyone could give you. You seem to have a level head on your shoulders. If this guy is really worth your time, wait him out. Flirt w/him, get him interested. Good luck!!!

If he really wanted to date you as much as you want to date him than he wouldn't care about the job thing! He is just using it as an excuse to not date you....sorry but most likely its true!

you don't want a relationship. does that mean you only want to date for casual interaction?
it's no wonder he's being careful.
I suggest you keep it strictly verbal .. no notes or gifts that could raise eyebrows.
you could drop subtle hints for a month or two then tell him straight out that you have shown that you can be discrete and that you would like ... whatever it is you would like.

I told my coworker that same excuse.. and it was just because he is ugly/ weird and I wasn't interested.
But I didnt want it to be awkward at work so I just told him I didnt believe in dating coworkers..
maybe this guy is pulling the same trick?

It's not wise to date someone you work with...unless you both want to risk your jobs or just have be awkward if you should break up, one of you should quit.

If he really wanted to date you he would, he must either not want to date you, or not want to date you that much. Don't waste your time!
