Keeping it trimmed. This may sound unlikely because youre trying to grow it but by keeping it trimmed and split end free, this will allow you to grow it because it wont be constantly breaking.

You hair grows about 1/2" per month. There is nothing to really do to make it grow. I have very long hair, I wash it every 2 days, I use a very good quality shampoo and conditioner(Phyto products are my favorite). I keep it trimmed and I do minimal styling in the summer.

Im trying to grow longer hair too. Keep the split-ends tames. Either by trimming them(not too much), or by putting some kind of product on your ends. Brush it alot, put it up tight. I heard a rumor that when you wear you hear back tight, it pulls on your roots and helps it grow longer.

Keep it trimmed, and make the change gradually. Start getting cuts that don't require alot of up-keep (for the time). Once it reaches the length you wanted, go to a local hair salon and get dazzled. :)

Trim it every month that way it stays healthy. Always condition it. And i find that using horse shampoo in the isle at walmart beside the pet stuf works just fine...
