rule of thumb when grilling - only turn the meat once or risk getting the meat over-cooked. for fish, the best cooking time is generally 5-7 mins depending on the thickness of the fish and/or how well you want it done (eg: seared tuna is nice medium rare). my suggestion for cooking fish ... wrap it in foil with lovely juices and marinade and leave it on the grill to steam in the foil pack for about 7-10 mins. yum. try it with soy sauce and vinegar...

It's impossible to give you an indication of time, since there are so may types of fish and so many sizes.
As a rule of thumb: Leave the fish on the grill until the flesh just comes off the bones.
Good luck!

Depends on the thickness of the fish, the type of fish, and the heat of the grill. For perfect results every time, I use a digital probe thermometer, which costs about $20. When the inside of the fish is about 110 degrees is when I take it off...experiment to find your preference - I like my fish fairly rare.

Generally, about 10 minutes per inch of thickness. But careful on the thinner parts - they will cook quickly.
To check for doneness: when you can separate the flesh into chunks with a fork, it's done.
My neighbor recommended a nice technique - put the fish into a sheet of parchment paper, fold in half and seal it around the open edge using a tight rolling fold. Put the packet on the grill over medium indirect heat. The fish steams in its juices and it comes out very moist. Hard to over cook, and delicious.
Enjoy!

Fish is not supposed to be cooked for very long. It all depends on the size of the slices etc. If it's quite thin I'd say 2 mins (1 on either side).

it honestly depends on what type of fish u're putting on the grill and what type of grill are u using? electronic grill? charcoal grill? ... how big is the fish?... in whole... or in slices?... depends on how you prepare your fish as well.. did you put a few cuts on its body while marinating it as well... u can't give a precisely estimate time... it depends entirely on what type of fish and how u're preparing it...if its salmon... those pieces of salmon in round shape that you normally get from super market... it takes about 7 mins of pretty hot grill to get it done... further question... ask specifically pls...
