I've always wondered if living in high elevation climates such as the rockey mountains had an affect on mental alertness and cognitive abilities, since the air pressure is so much less and there is significantly less oxygen in the air, esp. for those who live above 7000 feet altitudes. Do those people with less oxygen levels, have lower mental capacities?

No, they don't. Why, Ryan? Have you noticed the elevation causing you problems? LOL Just kidding.
There are stupid people at every elevation, Ryan, just as there are bright ones. The human body adjusts so that the oxygen intake/absorbtion is adequate to fulfill the complete needs of the body and organs.
So, those who live at higher elevations merely adjust to it. It has no effect on the relative intelligence of them versus those who live at sea level.

Me live in Montana anD like To Ski at Sometimes 11,000 feet high in the air up on the mountain top and me think IM not so stupidd from no oxyygen in brAin yet but sometimes like to eat cookies in my underware... when I ski. What's capacities mean anyway?

I really don't think so! I live in Colorado and I'm not dumb! haha well a lot of people say that but I don't really think its true, I mean Colorado is home to the school of minds! hahaha

LOL I guess you do have some theory behind what your thinkin' BUT my husband's from Colorado and he's not dumb. In fact he's alot smarter than me. I loved it there when I visited. No humidity so my hair didnt get frizzy at all lol

Technically it would make them more alert because their bodies would be more apt to function in low O2 levels....as for Colorado people being dumber....??????????
