Both, because there are yellow bananas the ones grown by Dole and Del Monte and there are green bananas like the cavendish variety. There are also bananas with the combination of both, yellow green. In the Philippines, there is even a reddish/purple banana.

$15- a kilo in NSW Australia at the moment due to our banana's being wiped out by a bad storm. They are usually about $2-- a kilo max, so yellow green or in between they are too dear for me.

Not sure what you are looking for in this question.

About the bananas, I have forgotten what a banana is supposed to look like. Sometimes I go grocery shopping and they are yellow and other times I go and they are green and other times they are black or brown.

Ya, I see what you mean.

Yellow with just a touch of green on top. My Grandfather wouldn't eat a banana unless it was black. Yuck.

Get yellow If going to eat them in about 3 days. Get Green if your not going to eat them in a while.
Get In between if you gonna eat them in the following week.
If you get green they wont be good for a while.
If you get yellow they are good right now
If you get in between some will be beater than other

***I choose YELLOW as my answer***

Yellow but if you buy em green and hang them on a plastic banana hanger, they ripen pretty quickly.
