You can easily check this on the internet, like at progressive.com, or geico.com.

If you want to go on your parent's plan, just call that company and ask for a phone quote.

Insurance rates a lot more fators than that. Your best thing to do is try some offers online. If you are not to aware of coverage i would recommend to make an appointment with a licensed insurance agent so that they can offer you options and suggestions. progressive is a good carrier. But, when going directly they will not rate well for your risk. You are under the 9 years driving experience which is not a "Preferred Risk". Their direct product is like going to state farm. Speak to a broker that has Drive Insurance. It is a different program from Progressive that rates for higher risk drivers which gives you the same claim service.

Should be about $2000 USD a year or less. But Stay away from the GT or the convertable.
