At the end of the summer, I plan to cut a couple inches off my hair to get rid of my split ends. What shampoos, conditions, and/or leave-in treatments should I use to prevent split ends from coming back?

hair masques and restorative conditioners. Try bed head - dumb blond I think its called. Or paul mitchell restorative. There are also products you can put into your hair before blowdrying to help protect it from the heat. Check out the products at a salon, professional products work better because shampoos and conditioners sold at the store contain alcohol witch is drying.

I don't know about the shampoos, but putting extra conditioners on the ends may help.

And BTW, the best thing to get rid of split ends are trimming (cutting the ends) a bit :)

Frizeze. I am not sure about the spelling. Frzz-Eaze is the way it sounds. It worked great on my daughter who has dry straight coarse hair and kept it looking shiny and healthy. Or try mayo on the ends and let it set about 30 min before shampooing.

I really like Burt's Bees Avacado Hair Butter. You can get it at health food stores, and you put it on the ends of your hair once a week, then shampoo like normal. It makes your hair really soft, it smells pretty good, and its not that expensive.
