I just wonder how many people check the caller ID before picking up the phone . Especially an unknown caller, I think they are rude when they know who they are calling, but yet they want to be unknown.

I used to never answer when an unknown caller called, but now that my husband is in Iraq I pick up the phone no matter what shows up.

I sometimes do because when my aunt calls long distance it shows as unknown. I typically like to check and see who is calling. There's no point in having caller id if you're not going to check it to screen your calls, why else would you have that feature on your phone plan that you pay for but never use?

I do check the caller ID before picking up the phone..if the number is not familiar to me I answer to find out who has called...being at home and not answering the phone will be rudeness from our side...

I always check the called ID before answering the phone, it's pretty much phone to know who is calling before you answer the phone. When it says "unknown caller" I don't answer it, because most likely it's no one I need to be talking to and if it is, then they don't need to make it unknown.

i do.. well not all "unknown callers" are rude... some are really prefer to be unknown or the call might be from overseas thats why it register to be an unknown call, esp. on mobile phones. if it is unknown, you can start with "hello, unknown caller. How can i help you?"

yeah my boyfriends parents block their calls and he usually does not answer. He cannot get it through to them that you cannot have caller ID and then block your calls. It is better just to block for specific calls that are touchy. Leave it off most of the time, so people know who it is it is only fair. His parents cannot understand that he does not know it is them when they are calling. They think blocking is so cool. Funny people. Then they have no cell phone and live in the mountains so we can never connect with them. It is just a mess. A little circus.

If I don't recognize the name or number, or it says caller unknown, I won't answer. To me, if it is important enough, they can leave a message or try back later. Sometimes, both will be just fine.

I never pick up an unknown name. If they want to talk then they can say what they want to on the answering machine and Illl get back to them and they never leave a message.

One time it was a roofing financer to talk about a new roof, called, didnt leave a message. One night we were curious because this unknown name number was calling us like 10 times. so we picked it up and the guy got mad at us because we didnt call him back. Well if he left a message we would have. What a great business guy!

No X[ I have a big problem with answering my phone when it's an unknown number. I just stare at it until it stops and feel guilt! lol but if i should be expecting a professional call then I'll answer it...hesitantly.

Will for one thing if u do have friends that has a block, listed number you might want to pick up. But to be on the save side don't pick up until u hear someone that you know. Then call that person back, unless you don't want to talk to them.
