Is it true that if you don't act tough you'll become someone's ***** and get anal raped?
And you have to join a prison gang to get protection from others?

Only in maximum security joints, in other states their called level 5 and 6.
In lower security it's not like that so much. It's the ones who are doing life or 20 years or more that are in max or level 5 and 6 that do this.
Their in higher levels because they won't see the light of day so they have nothing to lose by killing or raping you. Plus they lose any hope for a normal life outside the walls.

It's not true that all prison's are like this but yes, a lot of them are. A lot of men get anal raped in prison. My boyfriend was in prison and he got raped by a group of guys in the shower. Although my boyfriend is really built, this usually happens to the weaker guys, gay guys or guys of races that the others don't like (that was my bf's case). You can get protection from others from prison gangs but you're most likely worst off in one. JUST DON'T GET INTO JAIL!!! â¥

It is VERY true. Keep your behind out of trouble.
The prison gangs won't protect you from being raped.
You'll be raped before you get a chance to join a gang.

It's all going to depend on the facility & how you handle yourself. You can't go in acting like a whiny little ***** & expect to come out alive. If it's a fairly long sentence, it would be wise to make some allies. I wouldn't say you'd necessarily HAVE to join a gang, but it sure couldn't hurt.
No, I've never been in prison (yet), but I got a lot of friends & family on the inside.

I work in a prison (security). If you are in a max with those with long sentences (life) you stand a greater chance of being raped. Gangs in prison do provide security from other inmates. The violence in prison doesn't descriminate from the "weak" to the "tough" acting. You do not want to end up there! Unless you like getting beat up and or raped...lol

2 people here are right. if you have an attitude someone will kick your asz. its a bunch of guys, most generally normal. nobody wants a fight case, thats another 6 months. prison doesnt make ya gay, still a bizarre concept. there are closet gays & nobody wants to chill with the flamers, just like out here. dont join anything, youll inherit their problems & are open for a mix (getting played). its nothing like the show oz. have no concept of time or the outside werld. everything is the result of your mind, the mind is the strength or the weakness, its up to you.

I guess it depends on what prison you go to. You don't have to act tough here, but you do have to watch your back. People do get raped, it happens, but not often. mostly people get really messed up for the offenses they are in for. Child molesters and killers get f*cked up, which they should. The gangs exist, but they are mostly made of people who were gang members on the outside too.

No, that is not true. Maybe closer to being true in max facilities and in 'lifer' blocks, but not as a whole.
