For the facts, the FCC board are mostly Christians. Not bad people, but they are biased towards allowing religious villains.

Now on to Joel: He states a miracle every time he is on tv, How can this be true unless he is after money... Tonight he stated that he was in a car wreck and the truck coming at him was miraculously pushed away by "wind". How can people complain about George Carlin and fine him yet these evangelists go free…

I gotta say that Joel Osteen freaks me out. He has this phony/crazed look on his face when he's on the TV preaching in that arena-church of his. I can't tell from listening to his message whether he draws his inspiration from the gospel of Christ or Dr Phil's latest book.

I know, however, that some people receive spiritual blessings from Mr Osteen. I think we are a sufficiently enlightened society to allow people to make their own decisions about him.

And actually, I saw George Carlin on Comedy Central the other night (late night) and it was uncensored! He said all seven of 'em...

First of all let me state that as a Christian "fobidding cuss words" is a choice that some make because the crude speaking just offends and generally is aimed towards using GOD's name in vain.
Joel Olsteen is a man who preaches and inspires Christians everywhere. I have seen the message in which you refer to. The whole reason for Joel stating this "miracle" is because GOD TOOK CARE OF HIM. He wanted you and others to understand that God's hand will take care of you.
George Carlin and others like him are basically crude, rude and lost souls. They need God in their lives of their eternal life will be in Hell.
You also need to understand that there are some TV evangelist that do "just want your money". I do not feel that Joel is one of them.
Apparently Joel Osteen made an impression on you since you had to discuss him on the question board.
Good luck in finding your "best answer". I don't think you'll be too happy with any answer.

The FCC was created by the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C.A. § 151 et seq.) to regulate interstate and foreign communications by wire and radio in the public interest. The scope of its regulation includes radio and television broadcasting; telephone, telegraph, and cable TV operation; two-way radio and radio operation; and satellite communication. The FCC is composed of five members who are appointed by the president. The commission is assisted by a review board and an office of general counsel. In addition, administrative law judges conduct evidentiary adjudicatory hearings and write initial decisions.
(Not made up of mostly Christians)
If his ministry is paying for the time on air and hasn't violated regulations --- his program can be on the air.

As for cuss words I have seen and heard the language on South Park and it's not censored ---- not much is being censored any more....

I would just like to say that Joel Osteen is one of my favorite motivational speakers, and he's good at what he does so he should get money. Gods blessed him because he's doing His will. He's got the biggest church in America and theres definitely a reason for that. He's blessed. so good for him. people should stop complaining about it and do something with your own life.

Joel is one of the best motivational speakers and he does it all based on the Bible. He says at the end of every show to get in a good Bible based church. He motivated people to do good and to feel good and then tells them to go to church to, basically, learn more about God and the Bible. People do not have to give him any money, it is their choice. As far as him living off of other people's money, well how did you think preachers pay their bills? All preachers are paid by their church or else they would have no where to live and not be able to feed their families.

From what I've seen, Joel Osteen doesn't represent the Kingdom of God that Jesus illustrated.

Did you ever think it could have really happened? Why would Joel Osteen lie about something like that?

Joel Osteen is living high on the hog.
1. On other people's hard earned money.
2. On their adulation and worship.(Which belongs only to God).
