Iraqi speaker decries US 'butchery'
Saturday 22 July 2006,
US troops were roundly condemned in the speech
US forces have committed butchery in Iraq and should leave, the speaker of the country's new parliament has said.
Mahmoud al-Mashhadani was speaking on Saturday at a UN-sponsored conference on transitional justice and reconciliation in Baghdad.
"Just get your hands off Iraq and the Iraqi people and Muslim countries, and everything will be all right," he said in a speech as the conference opened.
"What has been done in Iraq is a kind of butchery of the Iraqi people."
He also criticised US support for Israeli attacks against Lebanon.
The two-day conference, the Iraqi government said they want all American troops out of Iraq now! American troops are worthless and we want them dead. We want all Americn troops dead as a door knob. They must leave Iraq now!! We don't want the troops in Iraq. We hate them.

Ok...assuming this is true...can this mean that Iraq is ready to fight the terrorist forces (who will obviously not leave even when the USA leaves)? If the USA is so bad as so many anti-USA nuts love to say...why is this man still alive? And where is the Iraqi public show of force that should follow this statement (by itself a statement is worthless without a significant show of force).
Oh and another thing...where did you get this? And why havent I heard of it? I mean stuff like this is such big news that even CNN cant cover it up forever...

He is a speaker for the Iraqi National Assembly. Nominated by the Sunni led Iraqi Accord Front. Of course he doesn't want the US in Iraq, it slows down his take of blood money. He does not represent the majority of Iraqi citizens.

What did you expect ? Don't try and tell me that America is in Iraq for "human rights", "freedom", "the safety of Iraqis".
America is in Iraq for the same reason it stayed out of WWII for so long, it's own benefit. America doesn't care about the Iraqis, they care about the Iraqis oil, money, and putting a government that will be run by the U.S

I can not find anywhere that he said that. I did find 6 articles that he , a Sunni Muslim, told their Prime Minister, a shite, that his people the Jews had done all the be-headings & murders. That Islam would always he that rightful rulers.
The man is a certifiable nut. The council is made up of all types of people as their were hundreds of names on ballots. People often did not know who they were voting for - kind of like America when people vote straight party without knowing who they are voting for. No reason to listen to this nutcase.

does it matter what one person says, i mean if i say ...what the f..k are we doing there, its only for the oil, don`t pretend we`re there for the health and safty of the iraqi people. america is a little boy with a big toy, and although we may need the oil,it is`nt worth the death of my son/daughter. f..k them and come home. what would you think. would it make the slightest bit of differance to any one around the world...well would it?

I beleive it compares to the Bush bashing that goes on in our own country.Freedom of speach is a great and beautiful thing! The big problem is that the totally uninformed and ignorant also have the same right to express they're narrow minded views.
