i am wondering - skeletal remains of early humans have been found that are not the same as our own. cave drawings have been found - does christianity recognise the fact that there were cave-men/women at a time? if so - if you dont believe in evolution and are a total creationist - do you discount or ignore the fact that there were different species of humans? if not - do you believe that they are in heaven even though they didnt know they were supposed to worship christian god? what do other no christian religions believe when it comes to creation - is christianity the only religion that has such a problem with evolution - also - would it be so far fetched to combine the two? like that god set a chain of events into action?

Good question :)

The existence of cave-men is not inconsistent with Christianity.

Check out www.reasons.org for discussion of cave-men (there are articles on the website -- not sure of the specific links).

Here are a few options

1. Cavemen existed but didnt have Spirit/Soul which uniquely made Adam and Eve Homo Sapients Spiritualis (humans who are spiritual and who can be in relationship with God).

2. Cavemen species are basically similar to humans (just other races).

3. Adam and Eve were cavemen.

I personally lean towards #2 above, but am ok with changing my mind depending on where the evidence points...

Regarding Evolution...

There is no evidence that proves Atheistic MacroEvolution (without Intelligent Design)...

I used to believe in Evolution. However, over a period of time I have grown skeptical of the claims of Macro*Evolution... this is largely due to the weakness of the evidence for Macro*Evolution, and the fact that the evidence, rationally interpreted does not support the overarching claims made by Macro*Evolutionists...

For scientific and intellectual critiques of evolution, see http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/00.html .

Is Evolution a FACT? See http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/evofaq2.html for relevant discussion.

Cordially,
John

Take a look at this book.

I have to admit that I am no expert on archeology, but his argument is compelling. After going to several Museums around the world and particularly in France (where many of the Neanderthal fossils have been discovered) he measured and projected the effect chewing forces would have upon a human skull.

Because of the distribution of pressure exerted upon our skulls by our muscles while chewing, bones in the face and skull continue to grow throughout our lifetimes. Dr. Cuozzo examined and measured notable neanderthal fossils, and then came to a strange conclusion:

These are the remains of people--humans like us--who lived to be hundreds of years old.

The second half of the book is a lot of calculations and measurements, but he basically studied bone growth in people living today and ran it through computer to project the kind of bone shapes we would see if it continued over hundreds of years.

The first half was an interesting read that covered some prejudice toward creationists offering peer review.

I think I've said enough. It's worth reading if you are interested in this topic, particularly if you are a creationist.

The skeletal remains found by those who would prove evolution are more and more being disproven because they have been found where man and animals existed (example: Lucy). I think people did live in caves as well as tents etc. There is no fact concerning cavemen and evolution just a ton of theory and theories are not fact until proven.

I believe that God created the whole universe and the first 2 humans and evolution stemmed from that and has been on going since then. God got the ball rolling. Evolution would not have happened if not for God

I can't speak for Christianity. I can speak for Catholisism. And the Last POPe we had, admitted that the evidences were overwhelming as to the fact there is proof that evolution was real. In other words, Adam and Eve was not as real as we expected. We did evolve from somewhere, not just popped up here out of the blue.
I agree with you personally. I don't think that God was out of the chain. I think he started it and ended it. So It was HIS doing this "chain of events" as you call it.

Why cant it be believed that God created evolution? Maybe he wanted humans to change so he had them change slowly. Creation and evolution can be preceved as the same thing.

Some Christians believe that 'cavemen' were an early creation of God, but that they did not have a soul.

We could not have evolved from apes, if so there would be no more apes. Innocense and not knowing about God will get you to Heaven
