Though I have never been hypnotized, I have hypnotized people. Not in the sense of making them bark like a dog but it's more psychological... well, let me explain........

First, the way it works.

The person you are working with has to be open to the experience. They don't need to be stupid, or even 'weak minded' as some have suggested - just open to it, willing to allow themselves to let go and experience something different.

The person doing the hypnosis must be able to speak in a calm, soothing, slow voice and be very focused.

You need a dark room or space (preferably) with minimal (or no!!) distractions.

Have the person doing the hypnosis (H) sit cross-legged on the floor. They should be as comfortable as possible. The person being hypnotized (BH) should lay on their back, with their head in ther H's lap. They, too, should be as comfortable as possible. The BH should lay, relaxed and comfortable, breathing deeply and evenly. The H should gently rub the temples of the BH (don't push too hard - just enough to lull them and relax them - and make sure you are on the temples. Need help finding them? Have BH clench their teeth repeatedly a few times, and feel on the sides of their forehead - they will push out/receed/push out/receed as they clench and unclench).

The BH needs to do EXACTLY what the H says and the H needs to say it in a very calm, very slow, soothing, melodic voice.

Follow a script somewhat similar to this - though tailor it to your own needs.

H: I want you to relax, relax, and close your eyes. Close them and relax. Just breathe and relax, relax. Breathe deeply. In and out, in and out, and relax. Relax. Breathe in, breathe out, feel yourself relax. Let your tensions go, and relax. Just breathe and relax. I want you to focus on my voice, and relax. Focus on my voice alone, and relax. No other sound, no other noise, just relax, relax, and breathe and relax. Focus only on my voice and what I tell you, and relax, relax. And breathe and relax. When I tell you to, I want you to start counting slowly, backwards, from 100 to 0. And breathe, and relax, relax. I want you to focus on each number - see each number, feel each number, and breathe, and relax, and breathe and relax. Relax, relax, breathe, relax, relax, and begin.

-- So the H should be rubbing the temples throughout all of this, and keep rubbing and the person counts. The person (if they are truly open to it and you are both focused) will start to skip numbers, or count backwards, or repeat numbers, or just stop altogether in a semi-dream-like state. Let them mix numbers and things for awhile. If they are counting too fast, tell them "Slowly, count slowly, see each number, breathe, and relax" and let them continue. Rarely will they get to zero. After they stop, either mid-counting, or a zero, or they are mixing things up constantly, say (slowly and calmly).......

H: I want you to focus on the sound of my voice, and relax. You will listen to my voice and my voice only, and do everything my voice tells you to do. I am going to count to three and snap, and you will awaken, and obey everything I tell you. One, Two, Three

--And as you say '3' stop rubbing and snap your fingers in their ears. Continue by saying ...

H: I want you to open your eyes and slowly sit up.

At this point, ask them how they feel and who they are. If it did NOT work, they will know themselves, the day, the date, the president, etc. If it DID work, they may know their name or some other info, but will likely not know all of it, or their dates will be off. You can ask them questions or present ideas to them. Have them do things, like turn a light on and off, or stand on a chair. What have you.

To wake them up say --

H: I am going to count to three and snap my fingers and when I do, you will awaken and remember none of this. One, Two, Three (snap!).

At this point, they should become aware of their surroundings, and again, if it worked, not remember anything of what they said or did. Likely, the will ask if you did it already or what is going on, when are you going to do it? Or something of the like.

The reason I say this is a more psychological hypnosis is because the state that the person is in, you are more delving into other aspects of their conciousness. Learning about secret fears or truths or desires that they themselves may not fully even be aware of. Or, you might go into a 'them' of the past. They might take on the personality of who they were ten or twenty years ago, perhaps as a child. You might see personality traits you might not otherwise see in them - a normally calm and laid back person may present quite angrily and violently. Always be aware and wake them as needed. Depending on the situation, you may need to clap to wake them - as a snap will not reach them. If they are presenting in a way that could be dangerous to them or you or others present ALWAYS WAKE THEM.

After the hypnosis is over, you will likely both be tired. The BH may have a glazed look to their eyes and feel relaxed. It is both an emotionally and physically draining experience to focus deeply enough to allow yourself to release inhibitions into a state of hypnosis.

Above all, be careful and sensible. Do not be manipulative.

If you try it and it doesn't work the reasons could be various- you were not in tune enough, they were not open enough or relaxed enough, there were too many distractions, your tone of voice wasn't soothing enough, etc. Don't be discouraged. Try again with a different person, or at a different time. If you have been able to self-induce OOBEs or have experience with yoga relaxation, you may be more able to do this.

Good luck, and be smart about it.

Sorry so long - it's just involved to explain!

I was hypnotized a couple of years ago at a show and ever since I have been fascinated. I found some great books at my public library. I would suggest that over the internet if you seriously want to learn. It has to do with making your conscious mind go to sleep while keeping your body and subconscious mind awake. Your subconscious mind is very easily manipulated, and contrary to popular belief, strong-minded people can be hypnotized too. Anyone can be a hypnotist, as long as you have a steady voice and a good feel for how you subject is reacting to you. I also found some great recordings of hypnotists on a peer to peer music downloading program. Some of those really worked well if you want to experience hypnosis again for yourself.

Hello Mr.Sexy.
Not to long ago I asked the same question(just not on this sight I don't think) and nobody took me seriously either. hypnosis is a very serious thing and only people who's minds are open and willing to be hypnotized can be hypnotized. Say your driving for a long time on a business trip and the snow is falling, the windshield wipers are rhythmically going back and fourth. lots of people whom have been driving in conditions like those easily get hypnotized. But there is plenty of info on hypnosis on the net so just keep searching on search engines like google, metacrawler, etc., you will find what you're looking for but be prepared to do a lot of reading.
