You will have to buy a ticket from Las Vegas to Dallas and then one from Dallas to Miami. There's no such thing as a two day layover.

The specific situation you are referring to is a "Stopover" and they are not allowed on most airline tickets you would be forced to buy two separate one way tickets one from Las Vegas to Dallas then Dallas to Miami two days later. If you buy a one way ticket and just miss your connecting flight in Dallas and show up two days later the airlines will basically tell you that no ticket exists for you and you have to buy a new one.

No, you can't do it. The only way it's possible is if your connecting flight gets cancelled two days in a row--which is extremely unlikely, close to impossible.
Sorry, but there's no way to do it. Airlines wouldn't make money if they dropped people off like at bus stops.

Yes, it is possible to do. However, it will cost you more. I have done it several times. You must let your airline know what you want to do when you purchase your tickets, otherwise, it will end up costing you even more.

yes, if your ticket and carrier allows for stopovers...this is sometimes the case with tickets where the date of initial departure is set, but the remaining legs are left as "open dates"

Many airlines used to do this.
In today's climate I'm not sure.
Check with your carrier. They can tell you best. It may depend on the days in week of travel. If Mon.-Thur. it may be permitted.

Yes. Ask your ticket agent and they will set it up for you. Don't listen to Sandy.
