I have had arthritis for SEVERAL years now. My rhuematologist only wants to keep me on Nsaids. The problem is that the NSaids help with the swelling and inflammation, but I also REALLY want something to help with the whole pain side of the problem. I used to order the pills online until it became illegal to do so. The pills also helped with the whole depression/anxiety side of the arthritis too. I have not been able to get any in a long time and now I am really wanting to start taking them again. Can anyone tell me the best way/and cheapest way to go about obtaining a long time prescription for the pills. I really do not want to end up getting them off the streets illegally. Thanks.

The way I got the last prescription for Hydrocodone was to have surgery where they put a 10 inch cut straight down my abdomen. I wouldn't recommend it as a way to get drugs though.

Have you talked to your rheumi about other drugs, such as celebrex or flexeril?

If you are in pain and the NSAIDs are not working ask for a referral to a different Dr. There is no reason for anyone to be in pain. The NSAIDs did not work for me either so I just went to see another Dr and he gave me a prescription for Ultraset. It helps some but, still have days when I can barely walk. Be persistent. And whatever you do don't buy the stuff on the street. Good Luck!

You need to speak to your Doctor...I wonder if you may now be (psychologically) dependent on these drugs?? Opiods or analogue opiods are supposed to be a last resort (ie. in terminal care) but I do sympathise with you...and so will your rheumatologist. There are several other options available to you after NSAIDS in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis...but you took matters into your own hands before these were properly explored. Depression and anxiety should be treated with anti-depressants - NOT opiods. I am sure you wouldn't recommend heroin for post-natal depression.

Go back to your doctor and explain the situation...and get the proper treatment....good luck

the best way to get pain meds is from a doctor- and if no doctor will prescribe them to you, then its probably for good reason
