i have 2 jobs and they pay ok, but still not enough to make ends meet sometimes and i have to ask my parents for money a lot. i'm an A student, about to graduate with my bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and i'm an overall really good kid, i live in Dallas and the cost of living here is just too much sometimes for a 22 year old to handle! they're always really great and sweet about lending me money, and they totally understand how expensive it is to be in school and make it on your own and they never get mad, but i still dread it everytime i have to make that call and it ruins my day and i end up feeling like a toddler who cant take care of herself. does anyone else go through this? got any suggestions?

keep the nasty answers to yourself, i'm not interested.

oh totally! Dallas is expensive, but at least it's not LA or NYC or something. My brother lives in NYC and they are constantly having to help him out too.

Hey, kiddo... I'm a mom with three kids in college. I'd feel terrible if they felt terrible asking me for money. It's an expensive world out there, your parents know that. They must be so proud of you for trying to make it on your own!! And hey, the time might come someday when they'll need you to be there for them (it's not like we're getting any younger!). Hang in there and know they love you more than anything else in this world.

Look at you going to college, as an "investment", for you first of all, then for your family. And I am positive that your parents are happy to be providing you. Don't feel bad, because someday you'll have the chance to payback their generosity. Maybe when they're old and frail, you'd take care of them. That would be the best payback, I think. If you're still in doubt, just have a talk with your folks, and then send me a thank you note! :)

I think it's alright. You sound like you have your head together and the cost of living is tough for someone in your situation Just make sure you let them know how much you appreciate it, be frugal with what you do have, try to save some of what you earn, and reciprocate with occasional favors for them. p.s. you're lucky it's just Dallas. Many cities are much more expensive.

I only graduated in might want to and enable me inform you, the finest 4 years were hard. i changed into fairly thinking college yet I also held an element time pastime. Budgeting is discover out a thanks to pass even as attempting to avert dropping money - decrease decrease back (no longer out) on the belongings you do not want. in case you decrease them out, you're more effective possibly to binge on them once you've the money. instead of shopping for video games, perchance try a on line sport apartment provider which incorporates NetFlix. costs, groceries & gas are needs. you won't be able to administration gas & costs too a lot, yet with groceries you've were given some techniques. it truly is definitely a lot less severe priced to cook for your self. evaluate procuring at bulk nutrition shops and signing up for any rewards classes (that are loose). those classes often provide sturdy sale prices. Coupon clipping is a school pupils perfect pal. It takes particularly time, yet combining coupons and weekly sales, it may avert numerous money. As for speaking for your moms and dads, i'd clarify to them what you want to do. perchance you may want to truly have a cooking date with them and they could tutor you techniques to make effortless foodstuff that you may want to do your self.
