Is there any free Computer software that records audio out of a window?

For example, there are various screen capture programs like SnagIt and Hypercam, but what about ecording soundfiles, I tried out DubIt from Techsmith, but its not what im looking for... Any Ideas?

Download and use "Audacity", it records, rips, and burns audio files. From:
