When I was 19, my husband and I lived in Texas and we would go to bars/clubs all the time and he would get me drinks. I was told this was legal..was it? What about the law in our own home? And how about military installations? Thanks!

I live in Texas and am T.A.B.C. certified. yes it is legal . As long as you are married and can show proof, and man over 21 can take his wife to the bar, he can buy the drinks and serve them to her. She must stay with in arms reach of her husband at all times. ok, but a woman over 21 can not take her husband to the bar and buy him drinks. an old state law, a man can control his drunkin wife, but a wife cannot control her drunkin man. A parent can but alcohol and serve it to their child. the bartender can never serve the minor. only the spouse or the parent can., the bartender has the final say. they can refuse to let the minor in the building if they want, management can not override the bartedar. i took the bartendars certification class and test, it took 8 hours to complete. any other questions and you can email tabc to find your answers. hope i answered you question thouroghly.

If you are not 21, military or not, you may not legally drink in public in the state of texas. The law requires EVERYONE in a public setting REGARDLESS of age to have a photo ID. That used to be accepted, even my parents would buy me a drink and it would be served to them and they would give it to me, but now it is called contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Some bars will do it but if a TAF (tobacco, alcohol, firearms) is in the bar and sees this the bartender will go to jail and the club temp. closed down. Or if a cop is in attendance. The law in texas says 21, military installations have the same laws....

The age of your spouse, companion or escort has nothing to do with you being served alcohol in any establishment, in any state
If you were under 21 you were underage and should not have been served
The drinking laws do change in places like Mexico, the Caribbean and other foreign lands

No, you cannot be served alcohol even if your spouse is of legal drinking age. Until you are 21 you are not allowed to buy, be served or drink alcohol - no matter who is with you or who you are married to. Your husband could've gone to jail for providing you with alcohol. Technically, you cannot even have or drink alcohol in your own home if you're under 21 - although that would be tricky to enforce. The law is the same for military installations - you must be 21 according to the law.

definite, the legal age is eighteen, supermarkets will promote to less than 21's yet they say of you look less than 21 they're going to ask for identity. maximum golf equipment besides the fact which have an over 21 or 23 coverage, it is their selection though, no longer the regulation.

From the TABC website: "(b) A person may purchase an alcoholic beverage for or give an alcoholic beverage to a minor if he is the minor's adult parent, guardian, or spouse, or an adult in whose custody the minor has been committed by a court, and he is visibly present when the minor possesses or consumes the alcoholic beverage."

If you're underage, you're underage. It doesn't matter how old anyone else is, even if they are your spouse.
