There's a huge unknown with a blown headgasket, whether there's actual cylinder head damage and if there's bearing damage in the block if coolant was mixed with the oil. There's at least a $500-600 repair there, and most people would never consider buying a broken car - many people have had decent luck offering a broken car to a mechanic shop that also sells cars...you might be able to get $500-1000 out of it, but doubtfully very much more.

It's worth a LOT more in good running condition, perhaps $2500-3000, definitely worth fixing it the extra money you'd get out of it.
