I have a male cat that is almost two years old and have just bought a female kitten to add to the family. My male cat is very angry at me and keeps hitting the kitten. Is there a way to help them get along? Any advise?

they will eventually, we had 1 cat then another came in around the same age. they fought alot for a while. one even craped.. hehe
then we got two kittens, the elders did not like that but they all get along great now.

they will get along ONE DAY. i say this coz i was in a similar situation but it was introducing a kitten to a waaaay older cat and a dog (they both "abused" the kitten)-- i even thought of returning the kitten to the humane society-- but eventually they all got along.

well we did the same thing not long ago. our male is about 3 or 4 years and at first hes was always mad (at us and the new kitt.), but after a while he got sued to her and they started playing. and they were soo cute!!!! so i say just give him a little time and space and they should be just fine.

just give them time i've introduced my female cat to a male cat and when we were around they would fight but when they were alone they would sleep side by side at first then over time they were ok so just give it some time

why did you get the kitten? if you can answer that then you will know what to do.

He is probably feeling neglected. Give him plenty of attention and plenty of time.
