Of course only GOD can make this judgment because He is the perfect judge. I know in part because I only see through a dim glass. Heresy is false teaching about GOD. If songs which are to glorify GOD are crafted in a manner which is not scriptural and someone gets a false impression about the holiness of GOD, I can say with absolute assurance that songs which transcribe the human ability of singing to angels is false. They are created beings which have not the need of redemption; they do not know what it is like to know firsthand what singing is all about. It is distinctly human ability (birds chirp, whales click and squeak, cats wail and dogs howl, they don't sing either) If someone actually believes that the angels sang to the sheppards and choirs of angels sing, that is a falsehood. Angels may be very musical beings; however Rev 5 can be translated from the Greek to be saying and has been translated that way throughout the NT.

It's the mindset people. If it's OK to inappropriately worship God in song, then it is OK to innapropriately worship him in other ways. Giving, Works, Fasting, Prayer, Sexuality, so on and so on. I don't expect most goats to get this.

Col 3:16 - Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Yikes.

I don't think a song is heretical just because it says that we've heard angels singing sweetly o'er the plains (any more so than when it says that the mountains reply - mountains don't speak either). A song is not a religious doctrine, and the ability or inability of angels to sing seems a fairly minor technicality anyway.

"They are created beings which have not the need of redemption; they do not know what it is like to know firsthand what singing is all about."

What has redemption to do with singing? Is there some special thing about singing that only we mere mortals can do it? Maybe God kind of likes to hear a little bit of music now and then (is it heretical to say that God "hears" us, since God does not have a physical body and thus lacks the ears to process the vibrations of sound?).

Since it says so in the Bible, how can it be heresy?

How in the world can you possibly know that angels can't sing? You can't support that Biblically, nor does it make sense. Of course they can sing, that is probably their language. It's certainly more beautiful than any gutteral utterings we have.

That's your opinion, but the majority of ppl who believe Christianity thinsk songs are good, even though they might have some erros. However, if teachings about Christ or God is incorrect, then it's heresy.

I have heard angels sing. I've heard them cry. I've heard them whisper.
