You need shampoo, because you need to wash your hair. I know curly hair can be frustrating, but there are ways to tame it! I have done it, and I will share my secrets with you.
1)You need good conditioner. You could either spend lots of money on salon conditioner if you want to, they do work well. I don't have lots of money, so I just use Finesse for curly hair, which is also excellent. Stay away from Pantene! I don't know why it's so bad, but when I used it my hair was all knotty and it broke off when I tried to comb it! Horrible!
2)You need a good spray to keep the frizz down. I like to use L'Oreal pumping curls spray, I think it works really well. Whatever you use, make sure it's made for curly hair, because things made for straight hair just weigh the curls down, so they're frizzy and crazy and stringy instead of just frizzy and messy.
3)Wash and condition your hair with a conditioner that leaves your hair without tangles, so that you don't have to comb your hair. If you really have to put a part in your hair, comb the part in when your hair is still very wet, an then put your chosen product in, and leave it be. Don't comb or brush your hair when it is damp or dry, because it separates the curls, and that's what causes frizz. Curls are stubborn, they need to curl naturally, and you can't make them do what they don't want to. I'm sure you know by now that your hair does what it wants, just don't fight it.

I like to think of me and my curls as two different organisms in a symbiotic relationship. My curls need me so they have a head to stay on, and I need my curls so I can look good. If I treat my curls badly, or try to make them do what they don't want to, they get back at me by making me look like crap. If you love your curls by using good products and letting them curl naturally, they will love you back by giving you stunning hair!

NO! It will get worse! It will be dirty and frizzy! That's a huge no, no. Conditioner is full of grease and things that are made to make your hair not tangled. Its okay everyone once and a while though. As far as the frizz, go and get some anti frizz shampoo. If that doesn't work then wear a hat. :-)

I did this once and it worked. Wash your hair with shampoo, like normal. Then put heavy heavy conditioner in, but don't rinse it out. Jump outta the shower, wrap your hair in clear plastic wrap, then wrap a towel overtop. You can leave it in for awhile I guess. I got impatient after 15 minutes.
Good luck!

There's a special leave-in conditioner that you can use with a straightener. It will help your hair look shiny once you straighten it.
