Most factory speakers on ANY car are about 10-20 watts

The factory speakers on my 2000 Ford Truck were fifteen watts

and the same on my old 97 CHevy Lumina

Most aftermarket speakers now days are about 60 watts...

I think you mean "How many watts can the speakers handle?" A low powered amplifier at a high level is more prone to blowing speakers than a high powered amp at the same listening level. When solid state amplifiers are pushed too hard they begin to "clip" which is a form of distortion. This can damage loudspeakers.
