If you lost $4000 and the money hurts enough to make you feel depressed, then yes you probably have a problem. Get help from GA or a similar group before you really hurt yourself. It's different for someone who loses 4K and it is extra gambling money, but if you can not afford 4K and you lost it anyways, you need help.

If you lost that big of an amount...and it depressed you...yes, I'd say you have a gambling problem. You might want to get some help before it gets even worse.

Gambling is not a financial issue. It is out of control if it affects your life in other ways. As is often the case, to ask the question is to answer it. Best of luck.

If you think you have a gambling problem, I gonna tell you no, you don't have a gambling problem, all you have is a risky spirit.

don't feel depressed anymore, go out, drink a beer, do something strange... is your money and at the end it is JUST money...

Was that $4,000 'mad money'?

Meaning that if you didn't blow it gambling, you had budgeted it to spend it on a vacation, or a rolex, or something like that?

Or was it supposed to go to buying essential stuff, like food or rent?

Is that a lot of money to you? Can you afford it? Do you often lose money like that? Do you win money like that ever? Are you down by much over time? Is it affecting your life? Is it affecting your family?

Answer those, and you'll have your answer.
