Was God just fresh out of Fire and Brimstone or was he just trying something new out for size?

He didn't rain down Fire and Brimstone because He chose not to. For "why, God" questions, I would recommend a thorough reading of the Old Testament book of Job--an amazing read!

Jesus said that in the last days there would be famine, pestilence, earthquakes in various places and it was told as well that there would be signs in the heavens. It wouldn't surprise me though if that whole ordeal was the wrath of God on the Voo-Doo capital of the U.S. and some of the most sexually twisted people as well, a people with such a high welfare status that shows a forsake God and love themselves mentality which happens to be another description of the world in the last days.

Hurricane Katrina was not punishment; God is not vengeful or wrathful -- He is Love.

Storms happen, Volcanoes erupt, and matter has no choice (it follows the law of physics).

Sometimes people don't move out of the way fast enough.

And.. what Prophet told you that God was going to destroy New Orleans? In the Bible, the cities marked for destruction were told ahead of time by the Prophet... and they were given a chance to redeem themselves....

I heard no Prophet telling that New Orleans would be destroyed... so.. I guess it was just a NATURAL disaster.

If God would have wanted to destroy NOLA with katrina... he would have. the reason what happened there was the stupidity of the founders of the city and and later generations to build a freakin city 6 feet below sea level. Talk about stupid

I think Katrina was their wake up call. Just like everything else that is going on around this country and around the world. It's time to wake up people, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and its time to get ones "house" in order.

Because there is so much water around there that it was just easier to use it to destroy. Now if he wanted to say eliminate Kansas then it would be fire and brimstone.

Interesting question :)

Do you believe that God was punishing New Orleans with Katrina?

That is possible, but I would be interested in your take on why you would infer this, specifically for New Orleans...

Cordially,
John

What I am curious about is why people insist on building a city on a flood prone Delta.....I mean God gave us common sense..Why don't some people use theirs? Why blame God for everything that goes wrong.
