you have to ask if someone who came that close to dying would willingly put things into his body that are linked with reducing people's life spans....

Also, he is the most tested athlete in history and has never come up with a positive test.

He has very very low lactic acid production, and very high oxygen saturation, and apart from all that, he worked harder than anyone else at winning the tour - he would get the course details the second they were published and ride every tough stage on his own to work out his strategy. The Alpe d'Huez mountain time trial two years ago he'd ridden 5 times by the time the race started - no other rider had done that. He surrounded himself with phenomenal riders and team support.

Can that be called cheating?

At first, when I saw Armstrong perform in 1999 in day races magnificently, then winning his first Tour de France - I was very impressed. When he turned away from day races and started focusing on the TdF completely - and when his team bought competitors to his title (Heras) to serve him - when Beloki fell and when after that Lance made winning a TdF seem no more exciting than a day in the office.. I was less impressed.

I don't even care so much that he might have used dope or mightn't (cyclists nowadays need to be superhuman), and I loathe the French press for warring against him with that ammo. I don't believe he was drugged in 1999 either, and I do believe he was a very good athlete. For being a pretentious, adulterous, Bush-loving, dull and TdF-obesessed c*** though, and for the daft Americans on this forum making fun of the cheese eating surrender monkeys, I do think you're right he's a piece of s***. The same goes for Floyd f****** Landis of course, d*** f****** a******, m************ r*****, the undeserving b****** t****** over his yellow jersey. Well at least I answered politely at first.

Sorry not to be rude or anything but I think you are mad because an American is beating the other countries in a sport which is not so popular in the U.S. but means a lot to Europe. So when an American comes in and takes over I might be mad too, but I'm American and amazed by Lance Armstrong. He is by far my biggest sports hero. I don't cycle much , but he is honest and by far was the hardest working athlete.

No, I don't.
There are those who themselves cheat their way through life
and they are particularly suspicious towards others who are
more successful and achieve their goals. Since these people HAD to cheat at something in order to have a winning chance, it would be a "self chop" for such to acknowledge someone like Lance Armstrong to have made it happen for real.

I can't really believe that there's someone actually still asking such stupid questions. It's like people who are caught up in all the conspiracy theories. How dumb can you get?! Read the stories. If you were a bicyclist, you would be ashamed to ask such a question. God Bless you.

no ther has never been a confirmed case of him testing positive for any performance enhanceing drugs. He has been positively identified with biological adaptations (naturally occuring) that make him an amazing long distance athlete.

if you consider tall people who play basketball cheaters, or skinny people who fence foil cheaters then maybe you could consider any naturally occurring biological adaptation cheating.

Let me guess, you are still sore that Italy won the World Cup, blame America for naming soccer what it is, and can't understand why we can always win at something as simple as riding a bicycle.

Nope. Somehow he is actually that good. Why cannot people accept it. Athletes like him come along once in a generation. We should count ourselves fortunate to have seen him.
