I heard burying a bottle of bourbon a week before would help stop the rains on the wedding day. Has anyone heard this or know of any such customs or traditions?

I understand your fear of the rain, since I've heard that old saying that if it rains on your wedding day, that's how many tears you'll shed for unhappiness in your marriage. It rained on my wedding day. Not unhappiness in the marriage, but general unhappiness in life has hit us both. I get it. Never heard about the bourbon, but you may want to go to the google home page and type in wicca in the search bar and ask someone on the myriad of links you'll get with that search. The other thing you could try is typing in that same question into the ask jeeves site, and they'll probably bring up some wicca sites for your answer. Wish I could give you a remedy right now. I'm new to the craft, so I don't have a remedy for you, but I hope this advice helps you get one soon. Good luck!

First of all, you are not God, so you can't stop the rain! Secondly, a little rain never hurt anybody; there's an old story of rain on your wedding day is supposed to be a good thing. It was cloudy the day I got married, and I've been married 13 years already! Just go and enjoy your day, you've probably got enough to worry about without trying to control something you have no control over.

PS: If it does rain, have a real sturdy umbrella handy.

Hi,

Well, I don't find the way to stop the rain, but how about singing a sing 'stop the rain' by the Average White Band or 'raindrops keep falling on my head' to smile?

'Stop The Rain' by Average White Band

Just yesterday you slipped
away from me
without so much
as one word of good-bye
You packed the sunshine
in your big old suitcase
Now only the rain fills the sky

You were mine
but suddenly it's changed
Wish that I... could find a way
to stop the rain

I thought that everything
was going fine
But I was blind
blind as a man could be
I took for granted
what you tried hard to give
And now the rain
is all I can see

You were mine -
but that was yesterday
Wish that I... could find a way
to stop the rain

Now tell me please
do you understand
what this feeling
is all about
'Cos when you left me
you took my heart -
squeezed the sunshine out

But in time
this heart of mine will heal
the Sun will shine
and I can find a way to stop the rain

The lyrics are not for the wedding, but I hope that the sun will shine on the beautiful day. If you have the rain on that day, the rain's gonna be beautiful golden showers on you all!

Please enjoy your day :-)!

in the Philippines, if the couple does not want to rain on their wedding day, they go to a monastery of Saint Claire and offer baskets of eggs. Many couples believe this and i dont think we have to judge them following customs and traditions, but i think when it rains no matter how much you pray it will rain, it a force of nature which nobody can stop , unless the marrying couple is rich enough to hire a helicopter to seed the clouds so it rains aftre or before the wedding hour. I heard and saw this scientific technique of cloud seeding,

Place a blessed statue of the Virgin Mary in your window facing outwards. It does work. But here is the thing do you really want to stop the rain. Supposedly there is a belief that if it rains on your wedding day, you will have a long happy marriage.

I'm sure you wont believe this, but I'll tell'ya anyway. I'm a naturalist and i believe mother nature is my goddess, i even pray to her. given what i said, i live the most eco friendly life i can, no littering, picking up others trash here and there as i can. you get the idea. n e way a few years ago my birthday was coming up and i had plans to go to the lake and the weather was supposed to be stormy all weekend, so i asked mother nature to give me good weather on my birthday because all of my past 20 b-days sucked. this time i wanted to pay for and arrange everything. it was the best birthday i ever had to this date, weather was perfect and not hot(usually is, and humid). it stormed the day before and after. now when i ask mother nature for good weather or help in life i get it if its a need full request that I'm not capable of accomplishing on my own.

I can perform a special dance for the rain gods to stop any rain on that day, but it'll cost you $200...For $50 I can just sing while taking a dump, but will only decrease your chances of rain by 37%

No...you don't want to stop the rain on a Wedding day or a Funeral for that matter....The way I heard it ..is that a Rainy day on your Wedding day is a GOOD SIGN FROM HEAVEN....It means that God and all his Angels are "smiling" over you
