Only when they're rubbing their beliefs in my face, or when they try to act like their beliefs are superior to science.
It makes me very angry when people tout a 2000 year old book as the supreme answer to all of life's questions when it was written by men and changed and altered so many times throughout history. When no one could learn to read in the past because that would mean you could read the Bible yourself without the assistance of clergymen.
It makes me angry when they view their religion as infalliable or unrealistically.
Spirituality is fine. Believing in God is fine. But the Bible has no more weight than Chicken Soup for the Soul when it comes down to it.

Be quick to see where some of what religious people do is right. If it weren't for religions, many chariries would not exist. Religion is just like anything else where many people get together, sometimes a bad apple spoils the bunch. I would guess that you see religious people, and thier houses and families and careers and you think that they get it from acting like a religious jerk. The truth is that for many, religion gives them the guidance they need to live the right way. Good energy attracts good energy, and bad attracts bad, that's why it is easy for me to guess that you have fewer fruits of your labor than your religious counterparts. Are you perhaps a bit jealous? Get rid of that and be quick to see where they are right.

sometimes. I am one. what exactly about religious people pisses you off?
Honestly.
Is it that some can come off as self righteous or say one thing then behave a completely different way or what exactly?
I am Christian and I myself get pissed of at people who profess to be Christian yet are mean natured, gossip hounds, or show little to no compassion. that ticks me off because I think it is them that you are basing your opinions on. I guess I cannot blame you but try not to judge us all. Most of us really only care about people in general and try real hard to be good examples.

I'm not particularly religious. I guess I'm more or less agnostic. I have just re-embarked on my search for God recently, and I enjoy talking with religious and/or spiritual people, to see what their journey of faith has been like, and what they have discovered about God.
I have experienced WAY more self-righteousness and negativity among people who bash Christianity. I am a gay man, AND a graduate student, so of course I hear all manner of "liberal" complaining in my circles. I am frankly sick of it. I find WAY less moralizing sanctimony from Christians, to be honest.

They only rub me the wrong way when they preach at you. I mean if I wanted to be told I was going to hell all the time I'd go to church.

Only if they push their beliefs on me. To each his own, I guess. But I do know someone who turned Jehovahs Witness and he changed completely. I would go have a few beers and the next thing you know, Jehovah boy is preaching to me of my "sins". People can believe what they want as long as they respect others beliefs.

You mean "do" not does, but religous people who act all holy but then do exactly what they preach not to, that does rub me the wrong way.
