your question is insulting because of the term whiney baby, etc.
what is in the bible is that we become children of god when we become saved
its just a phrase, figure of speech, im sure theres deep meaning but

Well, first of all if you want to make a point then this is not the place but if you wanted to ask a question then this is the place. And because we are all humans you should have asked an intelligent question. Anyone would have been offended for the simple fact that you are too old to be stating opinions so ignorantly on here.
But for the question of being a baby first in order to be a christian. I don't know about that situation but I could tell you that there are different stages when beleiving in God that a person can fit in. Have you ever heard this saying that you are a baby in the game. Where the same thing implies to the christian walk. Some people are babies in Christ; which means they are just starting out and don't know the power that they hold and the power that God holds. It's the way of thinking that needs to be reached when you have a relationship with God. God works in the supernatural. And we think in the natural. But when we (christians) start realizing how God works and realizing how we need to think (supernatural) then thats how we know the strength of our fight.
I hope you understand what I was trying to let you now. And I wasn't trying to act bad with you. I was just trying to let you know that life is not a game and yahoo has given the world an oppurtunity to ask questions and get others answers that you might not see in your whole life; and to abuse that privilege is wrong when a person asks a stupid question or vioce a not thought out opinion.

Well 'Sara',
I do not know where you get your information but, ideally, one should be Christened when they are an infant.
My parents chose to leave the choice to me.
I was Christened when I was 16. I found the Lord on my own path in life.
The reason why people were so hateful to you is;
You classified us all as whiny (mispelled, by the way) babies!
Because we are generally the good hearted, the sensitive, and the ones who hate the violent and terrible things in this world, does not make us a bunch of whiners!
It makes us the core of a society that has got to stop being so self-centered!
Love your fellow man, follow the ten commandments, we would all be better for it!
Common decency is the thing. If we had it, we would all be better off :-)

I will answer your question!!! I think it is an awesome question and everyone needs to ask to learn! RIGHT??? You don't have to become a baby to be a christian! People actually mean that when you first become a christian you are like a baby. Well... Ya know how when you were born you could only drink formula and milk and stuff like that! Then when you got a little older... you got to where you could eat baby food or smushed up food! Then you got to where you could eat regular food like everyone else eats! Well... the same thing goes with being a christian! Have you ever heard the saying "You have to crawl before you can walk"? Well, that is what it is like! You aren't exactly a strong christian when you first get saved and it is like being a baby in christ's eyes! Ya know?? But, as you go along you become stronger and it is like you are growing up in christ's eyes! Ya get it now??? I hope that I was a help to ya!!!

I think you must have it all confused. You must be reborn to become a Christian. That doesn't mean you must be reborn as a baby it simply means you must be born through Christ. I hope this helps. I am a Christian and I don't see why anybody got mad over your question if you are serious. Some people find things hard to understand like I have trouble understanding Revelations, the last book in the Bible but it will all be revealed. I hope this helped and I'm sorry for whoever got mad at you and I hope you will forgive them. God Bless

Well I think you calling someone whinny to start out with might have offended a few people... :) anyway of course you were not just TROLLING were you :) ok I guess we have established that you of course KNOW what you are saying and doing. You know what the bible means when it says "reborn" It is a spiritual rebirth (almost all religions even the wicca understand spiritual rebirth) so maybe you want to stop playing games like this and accept that as a seeker you will eventually be coming to realize that EVERY KNEE shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

I apologize if I have hurt your feelings.. that was not my intention.
You do not become a baby in order to become Christian..
We are born again, into the family of God.. God as our Father..
New Living Translation:
# John 3:3
Jesus replied, "I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God."
John 3:2-4 (in Context) John 3 (Whole Chapter)
# John 3:4
"What do you mean?" exclaimed Nicodemus. "How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again?"
John 3:3-5 (in Context) John 3 (Whole Chapter)

the part about becoming a baby is in reference to being born again. you have to start over with a clean slate and an open mind, and approach God like a child wanting to learn.
of course you got some hateful answers, you asked a hateful question. there are nice ways and rude ways to say things, and the first way was rude.

thats not the way to word a question. I am very anti christian, but I do not put christians down. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs. Hell, half of my friends are christian. Just because you dont agree with it, doesnt mean you have to make fun of it. Though there is an exception here. Fred Phelps. If you don't know who he is look him up.

Hi Sara
I went back to see that question you were referring to. As far as the negative answers, It seems that you through some mud at the wrong side of the fan and some of it splattered back on you. But you did get some excellent answers to your question.
Best wishes and God bless

It was the way the question was worded. There is nothing wrong with your question. All it means is that when you are saved thru Christ, you must be born again in the faith of God. Being born again in faith makes you a "Christian". I myself do not like to classify myself as a Christian. I believe in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, his life, death, and resurrection. I believe he died on the cross for me. And I also believe there is salvation thru Him. But I do not classify myself as a Christian. I am a BELIEVER IN GOD; nothing more, nothing less.....
