Or do you know of any good books or wedding guides on or offline?

One of the best resources I used for my wedding was Bride's Book of Wedding Etiquette (phttp://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&isbn=0399524711&itm=70) published by Bride's Magazine. Wedding Planning for Dummies (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&isbn=0764556851&itm=1) is a good resource too. I also used a planning book that had lots of worksheets, but I can't remember the name.

All these books can be found at your local Barnes and Noble or other book store. Go to the bookstore and look through the books and choose a book that has the information you need and a layout that is easy for you to read.

The knot.com can be a good source of information or ideas but you need to be careful. I've heard about problems in their discussion forums with people being increadibly rude or mean as well as people giving poor advice regarding etiquette. Your wedding day is about the two of you and is not an excuse for you to act like a total brat.

Bride magazine is a good resource for planning a wedding. You can also get a wedding planning guide from any bookstore.

Your basics are:
Things you have to get done a year in advance:
1. Where are you going to get married. A church, a home, a courthouse?
2. Who is going to marry you? A priest, a pastor, a judge, a rabbi?
3. What colors do you want? rainbow, blues, purples, reds, greens, yellows, you get the point
4. What style dress do you want your attendents to wear?
5. Who do you want as your attendents?
6. How many people do you want to attend your wedding? Start working on your list now!!! You each need to be able to invite same number. If you have 150 to invite 75 are his 75 are yours. If you have a small area to have the wedding, keep it small. Remember if you invite 150 guests, only about 100 will show.
7. Where do you want to get your flowers from? Which florist will have the style of bouquet you want to carry?
8. Caterer? Who do you want to cater your wedding? Start with a list of caterers that did weddings you have been to. Then go to them and start getting ideas of price lists, what they serve, etc. Basically at this point you are deciding what you want to serve your guests.
9. Choose the baker for your wedding cake. A lot of bakeries will have you in to do taste tests on different styles of cakes so that you can decide what kind of cake you want to serve your guests. You also get to choose the topper for your cake at this time. You can have a fun topper where the bride is dragging the groom to the church or serious.
10. What kind of tux do you want the men wearing? Including the groom. You get to choose, because he and his attendents have to match the girls.
11. Band vs. DJ? Who do you want to use?
12. Hall rental - where are you going to party?
13. Limosine? or do you drive yourselves to the church and the party?
14. Where are you going for honeymoon? Yes, that should be planned now. Some places also have a very long waiting list.
15. What are you going to give your attendents for gifts. The best idea I saw for a gift for girls was a charm bracelet with 3 charms that symbolized your wedding.
16. Do you want a unity candle?
17. If your parents are divorced who is walking you down the aisle? My friend's mother walked her down the aisle, but her father had just died 2 months before her wedding.
18. If you are getting married Catholic, you start with the church and the priest. Because you have to have marriage counseling or precanna before a priest will marry you. They also state that you cannot set your date until you see them first. You also cannot get married during lent for a lot of churches.
19. Who is going to sing/play organ, piano, whatever at your ceremony?
20. Do you want to use the marriage vows that have been used for centuries, or do you want to write your own?
21. What type of invitations do you want to send out? Go to printers, some will let you take home the book and look through it to find what you want to have for your invitation.

Yes this is a very stressful time for you, but think about it this way, make the groom help. While it is your day to be princess, it is his day to get you in his life forever. Good Luck.

By far, www.theknot.com. They also do have books out. However, on their website, I have found they have the most detailed checklists...from the regular "To Do" checklist to beauty to shopping...it's great!! Also, they have a great budgetting program on there too... And, I get regular e-mails from them about various sales they are running.

www.weddingsoultions.com

Not only does it give you different tools on tracking who has accepted your invitation, your budget and gifts given, but there are also a lot of forums that can get advice on and an inexpensive place to buy your accessories (like cake knifes, jewelry and invitations).
