I think it's a pie because it's made with pie crust. But people insist on arguing with me.

The cheesecake has the crust of a pie, the filling seems pie like, and many times it is eaten with whipped cream on top - Nevertheless, It just seems weird to not think of it as a cake. Maybe it should be called cheese cake pie.

it is only made with pie crust if you make a cold cheesecake. If you make a baked one, then it is a cake and you can use all different things for the crust.

The crust is made of cookie crumbs. I consider cheesecake a cake. If it were not whoever invented it would call it cheese pie.

Well-it is called cheeseCAKE so its cake. But what a silly thing to argue about.As long as it tastes good and cheesecake is heavenly don't care if cake or pie.
