Pubic lice are most commonly spread by sexual contact and are considered a sexually transmitted disease, but can also be spread by sharing clothes or bedding. Pubic lice can be spread by sitting on a toilet seat. I use to work in a medical lab and under the microscope they look just like the crabs you find at the shore. If she has sex with him there is a 95% chance that she will get them too.

Do you speak English? Can you read English? Public hair is most literally hair easily viewed by the general public, such as hair on your head, etc. Pubic hair that's got any sort of creatures crawling around in it should not be messed with. Whomever has that sort of condition should visit a doctor immediately, and anyone who's been sexually active with a person like that should ALSO visit a doctor immediately for removal of that infestation.
First, however, learn to speak the language and communicate effectively so that the doctor treating the condition knows just what the condition is.

Look, you don't have to use the best friend excuse. It's ok, your husband only has crabs. They do not come from "nasty" people, it can be anyone or even from a public toilet. No matter how clean a person is they can catch a little case of the crawlies. Chances are he cheated on you but, you can't just assume that. There are many ways to get crabs. Give him the benefit of doubt.

'public hair creatures'? good one, might as well be 'public hair creatures, cuz that's how people get them, from close contact with another person.
"Head lice are spread through direct head-to-head contact with an infested person. Body lice are spread through direct contact with the body, clothing or other personal items of a person already carrying lice. Pubic lice are most often spread by intimate contact with an infested person. Head lice occur on the head hair, body lice on the clothing, and pubic lice mainly on the hair near the groin. Human lice do not occur on pets or other animals. Lice do not have wings and cannot jump."
(wikipedia)
"The most common symptom of lice infestation is itching. Excessive scratching of the infested areas can cause sores, which may become infected. In addition, body lice can be a vector for louse-borne typhus, louse-borne relapsing fever or trench fever.
Lice on the hair and body are usually treated with medicated shampoos or cream rinses. Nit combs can be used to remove lice and nits from the hair. Laundering clothes using high heat can eliminate body lice. Efforts to treat should focus on the hair or body (or clothes), and not on the home environment.
Some lice have become resistant to certain (but not all) insecticides used in commercially available anti-louse products. A physician or pharmacist can prescribe or suggest treatments. Because empty eggs of head lice may remain glued on the hair long after the lice have been eliminated, treatment should be considered only when live (crawling) lice are discovered. Children with nits should not be sent home from school."
In short, get that guy some cream or rinse... avoid people who are always scratching.... choose some new friends.... don't sit or lay on what they sit or lay on... educate yourself or your friends by handouts from the clinic or sites on the web....

It is PUBIC hair, not public hair. Yes, it definately sounds like he has crabs and while they can be transmitted sexually (and usually are), you can get them from infested bed linens. My best friend contracted them when she went to visit a friend in a college dorm and slept in their roommate's bed (that person was gone for the weekend). My best friend was NOT sexually active, so there is no other way should could have gotten them. Was your friend's boyfriend sleeping in a cabin or camper when he was gone hunting? If she wants to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe that's how he got them.

Well since he said it was "red bugs" and he is a hunter? July and August is when hunters go out in the woods to build their tree stands for hunting season. Red bugs are out in force!
I am female but I go hunting with friends and red bugs have eaten our asses up many times!
If she wants to trust the reason he gave for the bites then be supportive until she knows otherwise. No need to cause drama where there is none.
I would say to tell your friend to do a little "clear finger nail polish" on the bites. If it clears up then it IS red bugs! (within 2 days the itch will stop, the red bite marks will go away in 4 to 5 days)
In the pubic area he can use CHIGGER X.
And maybe not have sex for those few days just to see what happens..............

They are classed as STDs and like herpes dont need sexual contact to be passed to another person - your friend needs to see a doctor NOW and they need to avoid s*x till he's clear.
