I also recently had my tonsils removed and found that liquid Vicodin is easy to swallow, relieves the pain, and allows for the eating of soft foods while recuperating. Ask your doctor for a prescription. You will probably need a tablespoon every four to five hours to make the pain tolerable for the next week or so.

Try dissolving a couple Bayer Aspirin in a glass of warm water and then gargle with it. I remember when I had mine out, the ice cream and popsicles were great, but they don't last very long. Good luck.

the doctor should have left instructions fr you to folow. but yes lots of cool to cold smooth foods will ease the discomfort. and a pain reliver like tylynol will also help. spray pain killer will also help but don't last as long and may be more painful to use because of the alchol.
it should be back to normal or close to in about two weeks

Gargling salt water really helped me... It reduces swelling and keeps bacteria from congregating... Use 1 tbsp salt and 1 cup water... Its nasty but it does help...
