Well I having looked at a lot of questions about 12 year old dating and even asked some myself but everyone keeps saying that 12 year old aren't ready or aren't mature enough. I know parents think that they should wait....but I think that they are ready because kids nowadays are more mature than they were 20 years ago or when their parents were teens. Maybe if 12 year olds just went to like carnivals of out to eat or somewhere the 2 families can go together and once the parents think can trust them alone..the 12 year old couple could go to a movie together but with a older sibling and thier b/f or g/f. What are ur thoughts? Don't give any crapy 2 sentence answers!

Look..First of all how stationary is your home do you ever plan to move? 12 is too young for anything serious and definately should be overseen by an adult or older sibling. Trust isn't the question even though it probably is the first thing that will get thrown in your face as a parent so...here is a word of advice you weren't put here to be your childs friend..be a parent and take control now before you regret it later! Yes its ok to have a special friend but seriously ...Hve you seen The maury show teens with babies or whos the father? Come on if everyone let there kid jump off the bridge would you let yours?

Define "dating"? For a 12 y/o it sure as hell better not be bonking. If it's just going to a movie or some such, no prob at all. Even so, we're talking someone who is not even a teenager.

My opinion-- a bit too young to be dating one on one.

I think giving them an experience will help them become smarter about decisions when they get older and when guys actually start asking them.. yeah.. they'll be smart to say no .I started dating at ten and now I make better desicions of who to go out with and who not to. but as long as they know what the consequences are then they should be able to date

more mature?
are you crapping me?
teenagers and young adults are less mature now than 5 years ago. a 12 year old in the 50s was more responsible than many 20 year olds.
