I believe it was a monumental sin, and that man has been forgiven. But when I read what some Christians write, it seems to me that they applaud the event with great Joy!

Well that is an interesting question... Sin means to be seperated from the will of God so if it was Gods will that he sacrifice himself then those who followed his will were not sinning. HOWEVER Jesus himself Gave forgiveness for thier acts (when he said forgive them for they know not what they do.) On the other hand that was more likely a request for forgiveness towards thier ATTITUDE in the execution rather than the Execution itself.
Tradition records that many people were cursed because of thier "part" in the execution. (particularly Pontius Pilate and the Roman Officer who Speared Jesus' side.) But this was just tradition NOT supported by any records (biblical or otherwise) So I would say NO it was not a sin. But good exercise too.

No it was not a sin, being that was one of the reasons Jesus was born. And if you remember just before Jesus died He said "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do". So if it was a sin, they were forgiven

To begin with, 99.9% of Christians do not hate the Jewish people because their religious authority and government was responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. If anybody has that understanding they are sorely mistaken and misinformed. It is the Jewish people that are the chosen of God, we are only the branch that is grafted onto their family tree. Christians embrace Jewish tradition, for Jesus Christ himself was a well educated and religious Jew. The Bible teaches us to celebrate our relationship with the Jewish people. Now, although it was the religious authority and the government of Israel, along with the government of Rome, who condemned Jesus to die, and crucified him, the question remains "Was it a sin to crucify Jesus?" The Bible teaches us that all governments and principalities, along with authority, are from God himself, and that we are to act within that authority if they do not go against the laws of God. Jesus was betrayed and was an innocent man who was crucified. In addition, his trials were rigged with false information, false witnesses, and everything false in order to find him guilty of his crimes. Nevertheless, he was duly sentenced by an appointed government of God, and his execution took place at the appointed hour, and by the appointed executioners of Rome. Killing of innocent man is sinful. Killing him with the authority of the government for actual crimes is not sinful. Killing him with the authority of the government without actual proof of crime is very sinful. So the answer is yes it was a sin to crucify Jesus.

They applaud with great joy because it is what Jesus came to do. He came to earth to be crucified for our sins. He came to be the sacrificial lamb. It is in he Bible.

Is anything in God's plan a sin? Did Lucifer sin when he rebelled with a full 1/3 of the angels? It was God's plan to make people who would not be allowed into Heaven to be with Him. That's his plan.

I don't understand! Wasn't it a prophesy come true, or done by Gods will? I never understood why Christians acusse or hate the Jews over it. So I don't think it was a Sin.

Absolutely not! Jesus chose to come to earth as an infant,
and then grow up, begin His ministry and do what He was sent
here for - to die for all our sins.

There is NO sin here! It is all a part of the plan of God.

Jesus had to go through the experience of crucifiction, because it was fore told by Isaiah four or five hundred years before Jesus came to earth. That is the reason Jesus came to earth, to fullfill the prophecies and save us from ourselves and our sins.

He was crucified unjustly, but it was still under the Law of the Land. But He said that no one takes His life from Him, but He lays it down. Wouldn't it be a better question if we asked, "Was it a sin to commit suicide?"

Mankind had a free will to do whatever they wanted to do. Did you know that Jesus could of commanded a bunch of angels to save him but choose not to so humanity would have a way to get to heaven?
