What he is trying to tell you is that he likes you in much more then a superficial way.
Nibbling of the ears, or kissing just below the ears or kissing your fingertips...is a way for a guy to show you that he's not afraid to explore all of you. That there is nothing about you that he doesnt find attractive or sexy.
Unless it tickles unbearably....go with it.
