Just like most of the Navy special programs, they require a proficiency in swimming, good physical conditioning, a clean record, and good academic scores.
For more information on the minum requirements - check this website out. It is from the Navy's Bureau of Personnel: Military Personnel Manual:

It is an all volunteer force within the military - and you will have to go through a training phase with them. Expect it to be tough, demanding, rigorous, and a process in which they will weed out those that don't really want to be there. The key is preparation before you get there, and dogged determination when you get in.
I recommend using the Navy SEAL BUD/S Warning Order to get in shape. You can find it online pretty easily, and there are plenty of books out there by former SEAL's which use it as the keystone in their workout programs. You are going to be working with them if you make it in, so might as well be in as good of shape.

Think of it as a "mini" B.U.D.'s course. Visit the swicks website.

Learn to run, cause if you sign up for either, you're gonna do a lot of running.
