I am kind of a foreigner, and do not understand this. I understand the Middle-eastern countries or N.Korea. Are we afraid of China only because they have as much military as USA has population, Or is it something more. Please educate me, because I don't understand that. Thanks.

This is just a brainwash. The government cannot tolerate any other country that can match its military power and economy. First it is Soviet and after it collapse, we hear no news about it. When China rises, all cover stories is about that country. If UK or some other ally of US also rise in military power, our government will brainwash us again and mark that country a threat as well.

I don't think people are afraid of China, just have a healthy wariness. After all a society that goes from communism to capitalism but keeps the communist goverment is a new thing. Of course people are going to be concerned about their economic well-being when Chinese companies can turn out reasonably good products paying 25 cents an hour. All things considered, US/China relations are quite good.

They are a third world country that is on the rise. FAST. Yes, their military, but also...they export WAY more than they import, so yes...they are basically loaded.
