You just reminded me of this cheesy movie I saw the other day on HBO or Showtime or one of those cable movie channels about a 35 y.o. guy who lived his whole life in a bomb shelter and comes out to modern LA. It was definitely not an Oscar contender, but it was entertaining. I think it's called "Blast from the Past" and it stars Brendan Frasier (he's easy on the eyes) and the girl from "Clueless." Check it out. If it doesn't prove educational, perhaps at least you'll have a chuckle.

the next bomb we see will go 200 feet under ground and level everything for miles around so a bomb shelter ain't going to help much except it will save someone the time of burying you.

Lots of advice out there on what to stock your shelter with. What kind of time frame are you trying to trying to wait out?
