try Tylenol 2 for the fever or Motrin for the fever then make a paste of baking SODA not powder and put on the sting it will draw the poison out and help the sting, yellow jackets are very aggressive and pack a punch of a sting it is going to hurt no matter what you do but this home remedy will help to get rid of it faster and provide a little relief if the fever does not go down in about an hour and a half she could be allergic to them and will need a shot from a Dr. also try going to walmart and getting a be sting kit for future stings.

I'd really need to hear more to give you some ideas about what could be causing the swelling and the fever. I'd suggest seeking additional medical advice.
To help with swelling from bee/wasp stings, Benedryl is good to take. It blocks the histamines that are causing the allergic reaction. (Some people, maybe your son, are super, super allergic to stings. My husband swells up like a balloon, literally!)
For future stings, a paste made from meat tenderizer and a little water applied to the bit helps draw the poison out.
Tylenol nor asprin relieve swelling and fever. Try ibuprofen, link in Advil or Nuprin.
Good luck, and hope your kiddo feels better soon!!!

If stung in another area and fever not a result of sting then fever has to do with swollen place. If the swollen place continues to grow and fever remains or goes higher I would go to Emergency Room. Could be a strep infection (had this myself in another area) or another type of infection. The fever is the bodies way of fighting infection so there is definitely something going on. Worst case it could be a staph infection...either way seek additional medical advice.

Could have a childhood illness coming on like mumps measles or just some cold.As long as you can control the fever (use Tylenol or equivalent) and she is breathing OK just treat at home. If you took to ER make an appointment with own DR as soon as you can or TAKE BACK IF SHE DON'T IMPROVE or she has problems breathing.Make sure she has been drinking enough fluids do to the heat and increased temp. if her temp is greater than 101.6 and won't come down with tylenol take to dr again

Tylenol and Motrin alternate every 3 hours and first thing in the morning when the doctors opened be there if fever still remains, please never fool around with fevers, worst thing you could do they say fever is a friend letting you know something IS going on. I hope your child gets to feeling better soon. God Bless.

Any Disease can cause a swollen lymph node on a chain in her axilla/under her arm in her arm pit area. It is just the reaction of the lymph nodes to inflammation.. which fever is another sign of. Sorry to be so vague.. but it can be any disease under the sun.. even strep throat.. or something like a really bad cold.

Find a new 'medical'. Fever is from fighting a foreign object, or material in the body. Swollen glands under arm is from fighting infections or foreign material in the body.

If you've already taken him to a doctor I would give him a tylenol of ibuprofen. It will help with the swelling and make his temperature go down
