Now! The give-away is in your question. You are thinking about stopping the gift giving, which implies that you are no longer into sending gifts b/c you want to, but b/c you feel an obligation. To give or not to give is not a matter to be determined based upon the recipient's age, but rather upon the state of the giver's heart. A gift should be given only so long as the giver wants to give, and it is no longer a gift if the giver feels compelled to give.

At whatever age you stop sending them.
I had (many are dead now) about 300 cousins, nephews & nieces at one point, so it's hard to imagine sending any of them gifts at any age.

Well the truth!!!! It depends on the person. Some people are more giving than others. My dad's family stopped when I turned 18. However for some reason I've been getting a birthday card from my aunt and uncle still!!!!

They are old enough to go without gifts. Keep sending them a birthday card though. This way they will know you are thinking about them.

It would depend on what age you stop being close!? Otherwise a card is good or a dew loose bucks for a starving stuent works! Even gas money!

I know my aunt sent them to me until I turned 18. And the first year that I didn't get one from her, broke my heart. She was and still is my favorite aunt. And I'm 49 now and would love to still be getting one from her as at least I would know that she still remembers my b-day.

Are you crazy!!!!???? These people are your family........do you just reject them when they get older...of course not. As people get older they need more support of their family to guide them....they do not need to be rejected by their aunt/uncle/cousin just because they are older in age. As thse people get older they also become more friends then family so take the time to appreciate that they might have a deep respect of you.

That's totally up to you. If you feel you really need to get them something then do so. I don't think there's really any age to stop buying someone a present. If you don't want to buy anything then it should be alright.
