i mean i wanna buy her nice things but i dont know if she will think i have bad taste and wouldn't want me to give her anymore gifts so i was just wonderin if whatever earrings i pick out she will be alright with.

get her something classic... diamond or pearl studs if you can afford it. Also, it would help to pay attention to the kind of earrings she already wears. If she wears hoops, get her some. If she likes dangly earrings, find a cool pair. If she likes studs, that's easy. If you watch her ears for a few days, you can get an idea of what she's interested in. Then have the sales girl at a department store help you out. Tell her what sort of earrings she wears, then tell her what colors her eyes and skin are, and what length and color her hair is. She will find the perfect pair for your girlfriend.

Just pick out the most expensive earrings. Those are what she wants. And she will want the most expensive everything from now on.

call up one of her girlfriends, or take your sister shopping with you and pick out something nice and don't drop too much money on the ear-rings.
Keep the receipt. If she doesn't like them - blame the choice of ear-rings on someone else ... "Damn girl, I knew these weren't the ones for you. I'm such a fool for listening to **insert name here**."

Its a setup. As woman, I know. Women tend to ask their men to buy them things, not because they really wnat the item,but, to see how well they've been paying attention over time. Did you really pay attention everytime she said something was cute, or she liked it? If not, and you have no clue to what she really likes, you'll be in the dog house.
