Some parents would just loved to get the opportunity to leave there baby to just take a night out, shows you how less and less of a family this generation is becoming. If people complain I brought my kids to spend some quality time with me. I will stood up and beat the crap out of that person. Go right ahead leave your kids with the baby sitter I sure hope when you grow old, you wont see any of them visiting you in the home for the elderly. Because they are too busy.

Well if you have children or you are a compassionate person that thinks of others about this topic I would say the answer is clear. Parents need a night out as well. They more then anyone need to get out sometimes. As far as a infant/toddler is concerned. I myself have 3 kids 13-10-2. I have taken them all a few times in baby age range. Why? Sometimes we didn't have a sitter and getting out at all is tough for us. Sometimes, we couldn't afford both. But still needed this break. And other times, it was an experiment taking them all together for a family movie. You have to know if the baby will sit or sleep through it right? Gotta give it a try sometimes. But, yes if the kid doesn't settle down quickly it is rude for them to expect everyone Else to deal with it. Ive always taken mine. When I was seeing if they would settle down when they were tiny, I'd sit by the door for quick exit to calm them. If not I'd leave. But the occasional noise I don't worry about. I really think its more annoying the adults and young adults who kick seats laugh and joke amongst each other and make rude noises or cuss words loudly during the movie. Besides, grown up are the example for the kids right? I think the grown ups are more rude. At least most parents take the noisy kid out.

I think the fart & burp a lot example would be the most effective and the most poetically just. I had a 5 hour flight where the infant would just not stop crying. Yeah, as far as the new parents were concerned, they're going to Hawaii, and screw anybody that doesn't like it. Laws are enacted to combat that sort of attitude in people, but they haven't yet drawn the line at screaming infants. I'd settle for making car alarms illegal.

I totally agree! What is worse is when they take them to inappropriate movies. No wonder they are crying! I can't enjoy my Alien vs Predator with a 5 year old sitting right in front of me even if he isn't crying! I think parents in general are oblivious, they are used to hearing the screaming and crying all the time so they just block it out. I cannot deal with this, how can you stand this all day? They say 'You mean I shouldn't be able to enjoy movies because I have kids?' To that I say: No, that's what you signed up for when you had children. Teach them lickety split how to behave and you'll get to see movies much faster. I should be able to enjoy my movie without your children ruining it. They can ruin YOUR movies at home.

I think they are just plain inconsiderate. I personally think that no one under the age of 5 should be allowed in a theatre unless the movie is rated G. Parents who say that can't afford a babysitter are lying through their teeth. If you can afford to go to the movies, you can afford a damn babysitter. For parents that say they couldn't find a babysitter, that's too bad. You shouldn't go to the movies then. Ever heard of BLOCKBUSTER?

I don't think there is a real way to handle something like that because people usually take their children to the movies to make a family night or just to spend time together. A lot of times they take their kids to the movies because they wanted to get out of the house.

their rude and ignorant and yes inconsiderate... People bring their brats to all sort of inappropriate functions not meant for children.
Why just last night this couple brought a baby to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, all I said to my friend was "I don't want to sit anywhere near that baby"
doggiemama good idea about the child-free zone in restaurants....

Ignorance. The same reason they bring kids to inappropriate movies when they get a little older, like the South Park movie. It's selfishness too. They don't think about anyone but themselves.

People are just in the "it's all about me" mode now, and don't care if their children disturb others. My friends who don't have children and I say instead of "smoking" and "nonsmoking" sections, there should be "child-free" areas. Why should we spend our hard-earned money listening to somebody else's baby scream bloody murder??? I think the managers of the theatres, restaurants, etc. should ask them to leave. We do that where I work if somebody complains.

What bothers me most is added to the child crying or shouting the mother or father will yell at them for crying. Making more noise and upsetting the child.
