I have noticed a tendency to whine when they can't keep up with a line of reasoning, or when you get close to shaking their faith, they get really defensive and whiney and generally UN-Christianlike.

Being born again doesn't mean become a baby again. It means asking God to change you and fill you with his Spirit. When you become a Christian, you become a brand new person and experience brand new things; kind of like when a baby is born and sees the world for the first time. Christians see God's love in a totally new way.

Some Christians will be whiney; they are human just like you and I. Not all of them are though, and you don't have to be a whiney baby to become a Christian. All you have to do is put your faith in Jesus as your savior.

May God bless you and make his truth known to you. I'm praying for you.

The more popular Christians on this particular website are, indeed, big babies. But to say that all of them are, is definately a bad stereotype (not that any stereotyping is good, just some actually fit the bill). A better stereotype for Christians would be goody-goody, or kinda-moralistic.

Some may be. But that is true with non-believers, too. Is it right for a person to be a "whiney-baby", as you put it, no it's not. The Bible says to be grateful for what we have and to not murmur. Read Exodus, when the Hebrews fled Egypt. God told them to be satisfied with what they had. They had nothing to complain about, because He promised to deliver them to the promise land and supply their needs.
To answer your other question, one must believe in Jesus and his payment for our sins through his death on the cross, in order to become a Christian and enter heaven.

Not a baby, a child. Jesus wants us to have child-like faith.

Anyway, I hear / read a lot of whinny from non-christian - are they babys too?

This is not an honest question; this is a mindless, sweeping generalization. By saying "Christians" you are implying ALL of them. That is pure ignorance and inexcusable bias. You are utterly pathetic and intellectually dishonest. If you have a question to ask, I would suggest that you do so with dignity and intelligence. This is utterly moronic and inexcusable. Be fair to others; life is not about insulting things you are completely ignorant about.

First, if you post an insult, at least spell it right; otherwise no one will take you seriously. Second, to become a Christian, a person will be reborn spiritually, not physically. Also, if you must post an insult, make sure you're right. I'll pray for you. God bless.:)

I am a Christian and not a whinny baby.
You might be referring to the phrase.Born Again.
That isn't a physical birth but a spiritual birth.
We all have the gift to renew our spitit again and again.

Religion is a right that everyone has. Standing up for what you believe in is a virtue, while putting someone down for thier beliefs is a sign of fear and ignorance. I don't practice any religion faithfully, but it is still sad to hear things like that in this day and age.
