Yep gotta go with most of the posts. No matter what you do, you still gotta go with push-ups. Just keep trying to increase the amount of reps you do, though be careful to give your muscles a day off every now and then to catch up.

Push ups are the best exercise to prepare for push-ups.

I do recommend you get in the gym and lift weights though. Your push-ups will improve faster if you lift weights at least twice a week, and make sure you do a good pectoral workout in there (bench press, butterflies, upright rows, dumb bell presses, etc). This will give you the needed strength to start out. However, you will need stamina to do lots of pushups during your PT Test - and the best way to get that is by doing lots of pushups in your workouts.
One good source is doing the Navy SEAL BUD/S Warning Order workout. Use your knees initially. As you get stronger, try to do more without using your knees.
Finally, strengthen you back. One thing a lot of people forget is that there are two sets of muscles for every movement we do - there are the push muscles, and the pull muscles. You back is what provides the stability to keep you body straight and aligned while doing pushup. A strong back will help to keep you injury free in any endeavor.

P.s. If that is a cigarette in your avatars mouth, stop smoking. That is about the dumbest and least helpful thing you can do for your body. Most people in active communties of the military have quit a long time ago.

Push-ups. Seriously. Do one perfect push-up tonight before you go to bed. Tomorrow night, try two. Just do as many as you can every night, and eventually, you'll work your way up to whatever number you're pushing for.

Just do pushups. Start slowly and gradually build up to where you want to be.
