I had a dog that did this one time and I took her to the vet. Turns out that she had been swimming in a nearby ditch and had contracted a yeast infection. Take your dog to the vet and if it is yeast - the vet will give you some really good shampoo to get rid of it! Worked great for me ! Good Luck

Sorry.. I wish you had given more information. How old is the dog? Is the dog scratching? What does the skin look like? Do you see any mites, etc? It sounds like sarcoptic mange but without the above info, I cannot tell you for sure.

Get him to a vet. There are several things that could be wrong, but I couldn't say more without a first-hand look at your dog.
Good luck!
