Talk to your doctor, if you have some medical conditions like thyroid or diabetes it can cause low milk supply. In these cases, they will prescribe a pill called Reglan usually for 10-14 days that can give you a boost to your milk supply. However, the supply tends to drop when you get off the pill and they wont give it to you past 14 days. My doctor gave it to me and i saw a little boost.
The other thing you can do is get "feungreek" pills. They really do boost your milk supply. They are OTC and you can take them as long as you want. If you are diabetic though consult your doctor as they can cause low blood sugar. They really help. However, you need to take a very high dosage to see effect. I bought them at a GNC store and i had to take 9 pills a day so it can be expensive. Alternative is to buy fenugreek seeds. You can get them from an Indian grocery store as Indians use it a lot in their cooking. Soak a tablespoon of it in water and have it with a glass of water 3-4 times a day. You know you are having the right dose when your body/sweat has a faint maple syrup odor. This was the only thing that helped me in the long run.
Also drink lots of fluid. The lactation consultant also told me that B-vitamins and anything with yeast is good as they have lots of b-vitamins. Thats why they used to recommend beer. I tried drinking some non-alcoholic beer for a few days. I dont know if that helped cos i was trying so many things. The best way to increase milk supply is to nurse or pump every 2-3 hours. Demand makes supply.
Dont give up and keep trying thats the most important thing. Even if you can only give your baby a little breastmilk it still does a world of good! I know how hard it is and you are being a great mom for not giving up!

I've heard that taking vitamins, especially Iron, can produce a steady flow of lactose within the feeding glands of a post-pregnant woman. Also, drinking lots of water helps a lot of fluids ease through the body, especially when on a period.
I wouldn't recommend the intake of pills, however, unless the doctor specifically tells you to. There are lots of risks out there with factory pills that could even affect the health/growth of your baby, as well as your ability to lactate.
Ask a doctor before taking anything.

It's safe for everybody concerned. I honestly don't see the big deal here. Breast milk is produced based on demand, so if hubby gets a taste that's not taking anything away from the baby. There's always more where that came from.

A lot of women feel that they may not be producing enough milk but there is nothing wrong with them. First just feed your baby on demand and your milk production should increase accordingly. If you still feel there is something wrong contact your doctor or a support group.

The best thing to up your milk supply is to nurse on demand whenever your baby wants without looking at the clock. However, I have heard that fenugreek pills help and also oatmeal.

If you pump or feed more then you will produce more milk the more you do it the more you will produce. I pumped and froze it and that worked pretty good.
